Job Description

Join a close team with big influence

as a

Practice Support Specialist

Who we are

We're ICAS - a global professional membership organisation and business network for Chartered Accountants. We're an educator, regulator, examiner, and a professional awarding body. Our smart and talented team comes from all walks of life. With a relaxed dynamic and a collaborative spirit, we take care of each other while supporting a vibrant, global membership.

What's the job?

Our Practice Support team is dedicated to helping firms and members in practice thrive and be fit for the future. With a particular focus on small and mid-sized practices, this is achieved through knowledge articles, guidance, webinars, our annual Practice Conference and a range of other services.

We are seeking a Practice Support Specialist to join our team and play a key role in supporting accountants as they navigate the future of the profession. This is an exciting opportunity to help members develop their practices, meet regulatory obligations, and improve their systems through a range of practice support services, both paid and unpaid. Working closely with the Director of Practice, you will contribute to the development of innovative products and services that respond directly to the evolving needs of the profession.

In this role, you will manage and develop technical content for a variety of support resources, from practice tools and services to e-learning modules and publications, ensuring they are accurate, relevant, and delivered on time. You'll also collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to anticipate future practice requirements and trends, ensuring that our members remain at the forefront of professional developments. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive professional who is passionate about the accountancy sector and committed to driving positive change for practitioners.

Who do we need?

You will be a Chartered Accountant (or equivalent qualification) with proven expertise across a wide range of general practice areas. You will have a sound grasp of practice management issues, together with knowledge of compliance areas such as anti-money laundering and data protection.

We need someone who combines commercial acumen with excellent organisational and communication skills. You will be confident managing stakeholder and client relationships, able to influence, collaborate, and build trust both internally and externally.

Demonstrated project management ability, a genuine interest in new technology, and proficiency in Office 365 (particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) are essential.

You will be a great team player, professional in outlook who works accurately and independently, manages competing priorities effectively, and brings a solutions-focused mindset. Adaptability, attention to detail, and the ability to plan medium-term work with minimal supervision will be key to success in this role.

What you get?

As well as ICAS being a great place to work, with great people and an open and accessible executive team, we also offer a competitive salary, and generous staff flex benefits package which includes:

Private medical insurance, 35 days annual leave with option to purchase additional holiday, pension (9% employer contribution), your birthday day off, life assurance, health care and screening, dental care, technology, and cycle to work scheme, purchase discount vouchers/gym membership and an annual individual learning allowance to spend on personal development.

ICAS places equality, diversity, and inclusion at the heart of all that we do. With our partner organisations, we are committed to building a diverse membership and workforce that is beneficial for all, and that enables our communities to learn, grow and advance together
