About Us:

The Wee Childcare Company is a childcare provider established in 2016. We have a new and exciting opportunity to hire a practitioner for our after school club in Abbey View campus, Arbroath. The job will start in August 2025 .

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated

child centred person

to join our team in delivering high quality school aged childcare. The successful candidate will work with the Manager to ensure staff compliance with all regulatory requirements, inspire best practice, and create a positive environment for children, staff, and families.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the provision of safe, fun and stimulating play opportunities for children after school, aged 4-12 years old. Working alongside the Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of the club, deputising in the Managers absence. Ensure compliance with Care Inspectorate regulations and relevant Scottish Government policies. Engage in leadership, mentoring, and support roles to 'new to role' staff, through planning and development meetings. Develop positive relationships with children, parents/carers, staff, and external agencies. support the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records and health and safety documentation. Engage in ongoing staff development and CPD (Continuing Professional Development). Attend networking and training events to improve the setting and ensure the setting is always prepared for regulatory changes. Contribute to Quality assurance and Improvement plans, leading key areas of your own. Organise and supervise weekly snacks.

Person Specification:

Essential:

SVQ Level 3 in Social Services (Children and Young People), HNC in Childhood Practice or equivalent qualification recognised by the SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council). Knowledge of Care Inspectorate requirements Ability to be part of a motivated and child centred team. Excellent communication skills. PVG Scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland. Registration (or eligibility to register) with the SSSC as a Practitioner of Day Care of Children Service.

Desirable:

First Aid, Child Protection Designated Officer, and Food Hygiene qualifications. Experience with children with additional support needs. IT skills using Google sheets, Excel and Microsoft word. Driver
