Due to continued growth, we are currently seeking to recruit a

Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) Engineer

to join our dedicated team responsible for ensuring new JCB equipment is inspected, tested, and ready for delivery to our customers.

This is a critical role in maintaining the high standards our customers expect. You will ensure all machinery is fully functional, correctly configured, and compliant with quality standards before leaving the depot.

About the Role

Following initial training, your duties will include:

Performing comprehensive pre-delivery inspections on a wide range of new JCB machinery Conducting quality checks and functional tests to ensure all systems are operational and meet specification Completing inspection reports and checklists accurately and electronically using a laptop Diagnosing and rectifying minor issues prior to dispatch Installing additional customer-specified equipment or attachments as required Liaising with parts and service departments to ensure timely preparation Ensuring all completed machines are clean, safe, and ready for transport Maintaining a clean and organised working environment in the PDI area Supporting the workshop team as needed

Essential Skills

Mechanical or engineering qualification Strong mechanical aptitude with a keen eye for detail Ability to follow technical instructions and checklists accurately Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team Good communication skills Comfortable using laptops/tablets for recording inspections Full UK driving licence

Desired Skills

Previous experience in a PDI, plant, agricultural, or automotive workshop environment Basic electrical and hydraulic knowledge Familiarity with JCB machinery (desirable but not essential)
