We're looking for a proactive and highly organised Pre WorksCoordinator to manage reactive and planned traffic management operations. You'll be the central point of contact for clients and field teams, ensuring crews are dispatched quickly, jobs are delivered safely and compliantly, and all activity is tracked accurately--even during late-night emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
Client liaison & reactive calls:
Answer calls from clients (including out-of-hours) and respond to urgent requirements such as emergency road closures, traffic light faults, or utility works.
Crew scheduling & coordination:
Allocate traffic management operatives to jobs, ensuring correct qualifications vehicle access, and PPE are in place.
Job planning & compliance:
Ensure all required permits, and risk assessments are completed and submitted ahead of deployments.
Excel & system management:
Use Excel and internal systems to maintain live job trackers, crew rotas, and incident logs. Create daily and weekly reports for management.
Logistics support:
Organise delivery and collection of signage, cones, barriers, and TM vehicles. Monitor resource availability and usage.
Communication hub:
Act as the link between clients, TM crews, supervisors, and senior managers to ensure updates, changes, and job issues are relayed clearly and quickly.
Standby & late calls:
Be available on a rota basis to take client calls outside normal hours and coordinate immediate response when required.
Key Skills & Experience
Experience in traffic management, highways, civil engineering, or utilities coordination.
Strong organisational and multitasking skills in fast-paced, reactive environments.
Confident using Excel for scheduling, tracking, and reporting.
Excellent communication skills--calm under pressure and client-facing.
Knowledge of traffic management regulations
Comfortable being part of an on-call rota and dealing with out-of-hours incidents.
Desirable
Experience working with local councils, utilities, or emergency services.
