are looking for an experienced and highly organised premises officer to oversee the day-to-day management of facilities. We are working with a group of schools in Lewisham. We have full-time roles with an immediate start available for the right candidate.
About the Role:
As premises officer, you will be responsible for ensuring that school buildings and grounds are maintained to the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and functionality. You will lead a team of site staff, manage external contractors, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the maintenance and operational standards across multiple school sites
Manage a team of caretakers and site staff
Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance work
Ensure all health and safety, fire safety, and safeguarding protocols are strictly followed
Manage budgets, procurement, and contractor relationships
Support the planning and delivery of capital projects and refurbishments
Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Proven experience in a facilities or estates management role, ideally within an educational or multi-site environment
Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, risk assessment, and statutory compliance
Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
The ability to manage budgets and negotiate with contractors
Proficiency in using facilities management systems and software
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
