To deliver administrative support services required by the service, providing an efficient and friendly front of house, dealing with all enquires in a professional and sympathetic manner. The post holder will support the efficient running of clinics through the booking appointments and greeting patients courteously, responding to patient enquiries and concerns.
As well as requiring excellent administration and organisational skills, the post holder must be confident to communicate with people from a variety of backgrounds and have strong customer care skills. Although the post is clinic-based it may require working at office sites to provide cover.
The post-holder must maintain strict patient, staff and departmental confidentiality at all times.

MAIN DUTIES
Reception
To act as the first point of contact to all patients, staff and other callers to the dental service and to address all enquiries in an efficient, courteous and friendly manner.
To ensure all queries and correspondence are promptly and efficiently dealt with
To clerk in patients, issue NHS acceptance forms and medical histories, and update records on SOE accordingly, ensuring ethnicity is recorded for each patient.
To keep patients informed, ensuring any patients waiting are given updates on length of wait.
Assist with appointment reminders for the service.
To ensure the smooth running of the clinic, and the provision of effective, high quality & efficient care in a timely manner.
Responsibility for managing the patient appointment systems of clinics, including follow up reminders and managing failed-attendances to reduce their occurrence and impact on clinical time.
Responsibility for, and management of, all written and computerised patient records in the clinic.
