We are dedicated to delivering exceptional food and a memorable atmosphere. We are looking for a diligent and efficient Prep Chef to become a crucial foundation of our kitchen team.
The Role:We are seeking a meticulous and organised Prep Chef to support our entire kitchen operation. Your primary focus will be the precise and timely preparation of all raw ingredients for our BBQ and Hot Pot services. You will ensure our chefs have everything they need to deliver a seamless dining experience and will also assist in maintaining our fresh food display counters for guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation & Mis-en-Place:o Prepare all meats, seafood, vegetables, and other ingredients to the exact specifications required for Korean BBQ and Hot Pot.o Execute precise and consistent knife skills for slicing, dicing, and portioning a wide variety of products.o Marinate meats according to our authentic recipes and standards.o Prepare broths, sauces, dumplings, and other ancillary items as directed.o Ensure all prep work is completed on time and to the highest standard for service.o Stock Replenishment & Display:o Work closely with the service team to top up the fresh food display counters in the restaurant in a timely and presentable manner.o Monitor ingredient levels in the kitchen and proactively communicate needs to the CDP or Sous Chef.o Assist with receiving, checking, and storing deliveries, ensuring correct rotation (FIFO).o Quality & Safety:o Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all prep areas.o Follow all HACCP procedures, including temperature checks, labelling, and dating.o Ensure all prepared food is stored correctly and handled safely to prevent cross-contamination.o Hold a valid UK Food Hygiene Certificate (essential).o Keep your workstation clean, organised, and efficient at all times.
Person Specification:
Previous experience in a kitchen prep role or as a Commis Chef is advantageous, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are most important.o Good, efficient knife skills and a keen eye for detail.o An understanding of the importance of mise-en-place and working to deadlines.o Ability to follow recipes and instructions precisely.o A strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices. A UK Food Hygiene Certificate is required.o Physically able to stand for long periods and handle a high volume of prep work.o A reliable, hard-working, and proactive team player.o An interest in Asian cuisine is a significant advantage.
