We are seeking a talented and experienced Prep Chef to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for food preparation. The Chef will be responsible for overseeing daily kitchen opening activities, and ensuring the smooth running of all food service operations for each day.

Duties

Prepare stock to established recipes and presentation standards Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training new team members and organising work schedules Oversee food production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and consistency Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in accordance with health regulations Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control waste to optimise kitchen operations Collaborate with management on menu development and special event planning Serve as a role model for team members by demonstrating excellent cooking techniques and professional conduct

Skills

Proven working solo experience within a busy kitchen environment Extensive food production and preparation skills with a focus on quality and presentation Strong communication abilities with culinary staff Proficiency in cooking techniques across various cuisines Solid understanding of kitchen safety protocols and food safety standards Experience working in hospitality or restaurant settings with a focus on customer service Ability to organise tasks efficiently under pressure Knowledge of food service regulations, hygiene practices, and cleanliness standards Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and management effectively
