About the Role

Cook - Prep & Production

Reports to:

Cook Team Lead & Production Manager

Job Type:

Full-time, Permanent

Salary:

13.10 per hour

Hours:

40-45 hours/week (4 days on, 4 days off)

What the role involves

Food Prep & Cooking

Cook in batches based on daily production plans. Prepare ingredients in line with recipes and schedule. Maintain consistency and minimise waste.

Quality Control & Food Safety

Follow standardised recipes and portion control guidelines. Conduct regular taste, texture, and temperature checks. Maintain high hygiene standards and complete all relevant logs (HACCP/GMP).

Kitchen Operations

Safely operate kitchen equipment (ovens, mixers, blenders, etc.). Keep work areas and equipment clean and tidy during and after shifts. Report faults or maintenance needs promptly.

Teamwork & Communication

Work closely with the Cook Team Lead and wider production team. Communicate clearly with packers, preppers, and other departments. Support other roles (e.g. packing, prep) as needed.

Time Management & Efficiency

Meet daily production targets within time constraints. Stay focused and productive throughout your shift.

Inventory & Waste Control

Notify the team lead when ingredients are low. Follow FIFO practices for stock rotation. Handle materials carefully to minimise waste.

Requirements

Minimum 1 year experience

in a cook/production kitchen role. Strong understanding of food safety standards. Positive attitude, good communicator, and team player.
