An exciting 24 month fixed term opportunity has arisen for a Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship within the Pharmacy Team.



Our apprenticeship scheme is run in partnership with a leading provider Buttercups, to ensure you are fully supported through a high-quality training programme. The apprenticeship will provide you with valuable experience and offer a strong foundation for future careers.



Whilst completing your apprenticeship programme you will be a band 3, Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician. You will be expected to fulfil the full role and responsibilities by the end of the training period, and a development plan will be put in place by your line manager confirming the competencies they expect you to develop during that time. On successful completion of the Level 3 qualification, you will be eligible to apply for registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacy Technician. You will also have the opportunity to become an Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT), further developing your professional practice and ability to undertake final accuracy checks.



Please note:

Applicants must hold Five GCSE's Maths, English and Science qualifications at Level 2 (GCSE Grades 4-9 / A -C or equivalent) .

Throughout the programme, you will be required to:



Contribute to the safe, effective, and efficient delivery of pharmaceutical care within the Trust.

Gain hands-on experience across the different areas of the pharmacy department, carrying out a wide range of duties under the supervision of qualified staff.

Participate in ward-based and dispensary-based activities, developing skills in medicines optimisation and safe supply processes.

Work closely with Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, and other healthcare professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Rotate across different Trust sites to broaden your skills, knowledge, and professional experience.

Undertake allocated and independent study, as required, to reinforce and extend your professional development.

Ensure timely and successful completion of all elements of the training.

Demonstrate a commitment to personal and professional development, reflecting on practice and seeking feedback to improve performance. Take part in regular appraisals and reviews, working towards agreed learning and performance objectives.

Actively engage in team meetings, training, and supervision sessions to support learning and development.

Work in line with departmental policies, professional standards, and relevant legislation (e.g. Health & Safety, Medicines Act).

Present yourself professionally at all times, maintaining high standards of conduct and appearance.

Commit fully to the Learning Agreement and adhere to its requirements throughout the training programme.



This role provides a clear and structured pathway into pharmacy, combining formal training with practical workplace experience, all supported by experienced colleagues dedicated to your development.
