We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting daily operations, particularly in environments involving children.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting Classroom Activities:
providing individual support to children.
Supervising Children:
Ensuring the safety and well-being of children during playtime, transitions, and other activities.
Maintaining a Clean and Safe Environment:
Cleaning and sanitizing toys, surfaces, and equipment, and ensuring the overall safety of the learning space.
Assisting with Daily Routines:
Helping with meals, snacks, toileting, and rest times.
Communicating with Parents:
Keeping parents informed about their child's progress, addressing concerns, and fostering positive relationships.
Promoting Positive Behavior:
Encouraging positive social interactions, managing conflict, and helping children develop self-regulation skills.
Additional Responsibilities:
Observing and Assessing Children: Documenting observations of children's progress and development.
Supporting Children with Special Needs:Providing individualised support to children with specific learning needs.
Participating in Professional Development:Attending staff meetings, training, and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.
Skills and Qualifications:
Patience and Compassion: A genuine love for children and a nurturing personality.
Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with children, parents, and colleagues.
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain a tidy workspace.
Teamwork Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with other staff members.
Early Childhood Education Knowledge: having a level 2/3 in early years and also some relevant experience in an early years setting.
We will have a probation period of 4 weeks before we can finalise contracts and a full DBS check is obtained. All contracts are for 10 hours minimum per week. But there may be always extra hours available depending on your flexibility.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: 13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 - 18 per week
