The Valley Preschool setting based within The Meon Valley are currently looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, and motivated Deputy Supervisor to join our small and friendly team.

Deputy Supervisor who is driven by high quality and excellence and has the ability to lead by example and support the manager. A friendly approach and knowledge and understanding of the EYFS is essential. You will be expected to lead the preschool in the managers absence

The successful candidate will:

Hold a Level 3 qualification or above in childcare and previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role. Hold 2 years post-qualifying experience in a nursery/childcare setting. Work 26 hours a week term time only Have previous leadership or supervisory experience. Be

passionate

to work with children. Have a desire to learn and grow. Work closely alongside the Setting Manager and Committee, to drive the business forward. Make all children and their families feel special every day and part of a large family. Work closely alongside their colleagues, supporting and encouraging each other. Be imaginative, creative, and not afraid to dress up, be covered in paint or gloop, and most importantly have fun.

Job Duties Summary:

Work as a deputy leader leading the team. Open/close and fully manage the setting in the absence of the Setting Leader. Working closely with the Setting Leader taking lead in the running of the setting as a whole. To achieve and maintain high standards of care. To assist the Setting Leader in effectively leading and managing the staff team including providing day-to-day guidance, supervision, mentoring, and training and support to all colleagues. Ensuring the records are updated and maintained at a high standard throughout the setting. Adhering to Health and Safety policies, maintaining risk assessments, and relevant documentation. Working in partnership with parents/carers to best support children's care and development. Liaise with external agencies to assist in obtaining advice, guidance, and intervention to support children and their families within the setting.
