Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Preschool Leader/Manager to lead our team. This vital role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for our children, and supporting our mission to deliver exceptional early childhood education. It would suit someone with strong organisational and communication skills, and a genuine passion for creating an inclusive, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
As the Preschool Leader, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the setting, including:
Developing and implementing educational programmes and policies in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
Ensuring the safety, well-being, and safeguarding of all children aged 2-5
Building positive and effective relationships with parents and carers
Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, Local Authority guidance, and Ofsted requirements
Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development across the staff team
Recruiting, training, and managing staff, including termly supervisions, annual appraisals, rota management, and ensuring correct staffing ratios
Managing the preschool budget with support from administrative staff and in collaboration with the committee
Qualifications
Proven management and leadership experience in early childhood settings.
Extensive experience working with young children.
Strong understanding of childcare regulations and standards.
Excellent communication skills in English.
Ability to motivate and lead a team effectively.
Valid driving license is preferred but not essential.
Passionate about early childhood development and education.
Role Details
Full-time position (minimum 30 hours per week)
Contract Type: Permanent
Term-time only, paid pro-rata
Salary dependent on qualifications and experience (range: 25,000 - 35,000 pro-rata)
Start Date: Spring Term (Jan 26, or earlier if possible)
