We are looking to recruit a Preschool Manager, based at St Barnabas Church, West Cheltenham, with a sense of social purpose to help improve the lives of others and make a lasting difference in the lives of children throughout the County of Gloucestershire.

The role is 30 hours a week, working 41 weeks per year.

Salary is between 21,883 - 26,629 per annum, based on working for 30 hours per week for 41 weeks per year.

Salary is dependent on relevant skills, experience and qualifications.

ABOUT YOU



We are inviting applications for the role of Preschool Manager, based at St Barnabas Church, West Cheltenham.

To be successful in this role, you should have the:

A Level 5 in the relevant field, be SENCO qualified, or willing to achieve this, and have a minimum of 2 years' experience of working and leading in a preschool setting.

Ability to work with tact and diplomacy and react sensitively and with emotional intelligence, when dealing with complex, sensitive or confidential scenarios.

Ability to work in a highly confidential way, applying judgement and common sense, and being able to problem solve and find practical solutions to difficult challenges.

Ability to manage own workload with minimum supervision, to tight deadlines and to work well in a busy environment.

Adaptable and able to handle people of all capabilities and attitudes.

Effective interpersonal and influencing skills.

Ability to maintain good working relationships, across a range of staff levels both internally and externally and be comfortable working in a team.

ABOUT THE ROLE



The Preschool Manager will ensure that the children have a safe, high quality educational experience throughout their time at the setting. They take responsibility for drawing up long term, medium term and sessional curriculum plans which take into account the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum for guidance and will monitor the effectiveness of the settings curriculum. They will also lead in being responsible for all regulatory compliance of the setting, all of which may include working with other external professionals.

The Preschool Manager will support and assist the Nominated Individual for OFSTED, representing the setting and taking responsibility for all necessary and relevant actions relating to OFSTED, as directed by the Senior Manager for Children & Families.

The role will include developing the Preschool to run and be open for the hours agreed, as well as working closely with the Senior Manager for Children & Families to expand the Early Years provision offered by YMCA Cheltenham. This will include carrying out research, liaising with colleagues and external professionals, and drawing up development plans.
