Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Preschool Manager to oversee the daily operations of our early childhood education centre. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children while managing staff, liaising with parents, and maintaining high standards of educational quality. The Preschool Manager will play a key role in supporting both staff and children to achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities



Oversee the daily functioning of the preschool, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to regulatory standards Lead, motivate, and supervise teaching staff to deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate activities Develop and implement curriculum plans in line with educational guidelines and best practices Foster strong relationships with parents, providing regular updates on children's progress and addressing any concerns Organise staff rotas, training sessions, and professional development programmes Monitor health and safety procedures to ensure a secure environment for children and staff Manage administrative tasks including enrolment processes, record keeping, and compliance documentation Promote a positive organisational culture centred around inclusivity, respect, and continuous improvement Ensure the preschool environment is well-maintained, clean, colourful, and stimulating for young learners

Skills



Proven experience in early childhood education or childcare management Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide a team of educators Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy setting Exceptional communication skills for liaising with parents, staff, and external agencies Passionate about teaching and child development principles Ability to maintain a calm demeanour under pressure and handle sensitive situations professionally Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards governing early years provision

Safeguarding & Welfare



Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or ensure a trained DSL is in place. Ensure safeguarding, child protection, health and safety and welfare requirements are fully met. Maintain accurate records relating to children, staff and safeguarding concerns.

Curriculum & Practice



Ensure delivery of high-quality EYFS curriculum tailored to individual children's needs. Monitor planning, observations, and assessments to support children's learning and development. Promote inclusive practice and support children with additional needs. Ensure smooth transitions for children into and out of setting.

Compliance & Quality Assurance



Ensure the preschool meets all Ofsted, EYFS, and local authority requirements. Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections. Develop, implement, and review policies and procedures regularly. maintain accurate registers, records and documentation.

Parent & Community Engagement



Build strong, professional relationships with parents and carers. Handle parent queries, concerns, and complaints appropriately. Communicate effectively about children's progress and wellbeing. Work in partnership with external agengies and professionals.
Term time only

32 hours a week between the hours of 8.30 - 3.30

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 18.00 per hour
