We are looking for someone wonderful to join our team. As a Room Leader you will have the excitement of working with an established management team to do something magical.

Person Specification

You have so much passion for Early Years that it spills out and inspires everyone around you You have the experience, knowledge and confidence to reassure even the most nervous of parent, child or member of staff. You understand that a smile is the most important thing you can wear to work. You have the patience of Rapunzel but would have found your way out of the tower! You must have the ability to make every child feel that they are the only person you've ever wanted to talk to, even 5 at a time! Can you turn a frown upside down and bringing a smile to the grumpiest face? You must be able to laugh at jokes you don't understand, or you don't find funny! No stage experience is necessary but must be more than made up for in enthusiasm, whether you're playing a ferocious dragon, a mermaid (with leadership skills) or belting out A million Dreams. You will help the children direct you in a dramatic masterpiece. Furthermore, the ability to sing in front of a crowd is essential Just like everybody's favourite snowman, you must be able to distribute warm hugs as required. You must understand that keeping ourselves safe is not the same as removing the risk altogether, you will respect children well enough to understand that in order to learn they need to do, and you are ready to scaffold them IF they need you! You have an incredible ability to create a Grand Designs wonderland, a space worthy rocket ship or super-telescope using just some cardboard boxes, fruit shoot bottles and toilet roll tubes Leaving work with glitter in your hair, paint on your shoes and who-knows-what on your sleeve is a good day. That is what a washing machine is for! Pretending to eat play dough creations realistically is required, and that of drinking numerous cups of pretend tea. You must have the ability to read full story, upside down, with voices, despite 4 interruptions per page. You understand that play is the highest form of research, and to a child it is more important than sunshine, broccoli and sensible shoes all rolled in to one. You understand that all joking aside, you have a job like no other and one that commands enormous respect, diligence and a lot of hard work. As a reward for your enthusiasm, you can expect to be loved, revered and held in the very highest esteem by countless little people and their families.

Qualifications and Skills

NNEB, CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent recognised Early Years Qualification essential A minimum of 2 years experience in a childcare setting essential. Experienced Nursery Nurses will be considered. The ability to motivate, support and develop staff in their career progression Excellent communication and organisational skills Awareness of Health & Safety legislation Knowledge and understanding of Child Protection / Safeguarding
Term time only can be negotiated, flexibility to work between 7:30am & 6pm

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.70 per hour

Expected hours: 42.5 per week
