Job Overview


We are seeking a passionate and dedicated PreschooL Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with young children. This role involves creating a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can learn, grow, and develop essential skills. The Supervisor will be responsible for designing engaging lesson plans, fostering positive relationships with children, organising school runs whilst supporting each child's development.

Duties



Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote learning through play and exploration. Keep a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment that encourages children's social, emotional, and cognitive development. Supervise and engage with children during activities, ensuring their safety at all times. Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress, behaviour, and any concerns that may arise. Be responsible in the organisation of daily school runs Maintain accurate records of children's development and progress in accordance with regulatory requirements. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices.

Requirements



A qualification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent experience working with young children is essential. Previous experience in childcare or nursery settings is highly desirable. Strong management and leadership skills Excellent communication skills in English to interact positively with children, parents, and colleagues. A genuine passion for nurturing children's growth and development through creative teaching methods. A valid driving licence is required for transporting children as required by the role. We are open 7:30am to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday. Shifts are varied to cover these hours. 1

maternity cover for full-time nursery assistant post (35 hours over 4x 9-hour days). This post is a fixed-term contract for 1 year.

Roles and responsibilities

:

To ensure a high level of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care and development for the children placed in the nursery. To be responsible for any tasks delegated by the manager and to give support to other personnel within the nursery. To adhere to and enforce all policies and procedures within the nursery. To plan daily routines for the children. To risk-assess all aspects of the daily routine to ensure a safe environment for staff, students, and children.

Essential criteria:



Age 18 and over at time of application. A minimum qualification of NVQ Level 2 in Childcare and Education, or equivalent. Minimum of 1 year's experience in childcare. Have a flexible attitude to work. Be a team player. Be motivated.

Desirable criteria:



A qualification of NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education, or equivalent. Clean driving licence for manual cars. Paediatric first-aid training. Safeguarding training..
