Prevention and Education Practitioner (Missing Coordinator) Job description
We are currently recruiting a Missing Co-Ordinator within our Targeted Intensive Services. This is an exciting opportunity to join our "Making a Change Service" which is a multidisciplinary team for young people who are presenting a high level of vulnerability and who are at particular risk of harm from sexual and criminal exploitation and/or going missing.
Within this role you will deliver face to face support to young people who go missing and complete return home interviews (Missing Chats). You will be working alongside partner agencies including Humberside Police to coordinate the response to missing children across Children's Services as part of a multidisciplinary team. This will include young people who are presenting a high level of vulnerability and who are at particular risk of harm from sexual and criminal exploitation and/or going missing/trafficked.
The Right Candidate:
This role is ideal for candidates with a proven track record of working with those children and families with highly complex needs, who are educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. We are looking for an energetic, creative and experienced practitioner who can demonstrate tenacity and enthusiasm in making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people. You will have a well-developed knowledge of Signs of Safety and have a working knowledge of restorative practice, social pedagogy and systemic practice. You will have an in depth understanding and experience of working with children, young people and their networks, as well as an evident commitment to the values of family involvement, relational approaches and empowerment.
You will have excellent written and oral communication skills, be able to demonstrate a high level of motivation and will be able to work independently. You will also display skills in working within timescales whilst managing conflicting priorities. This will be an extremely demanding role, but also equally rewarding, with opportunity for training and development within the role.
