Role Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate
PE Coach
to join our multidisciplinary team at Easy Steps.
The successful candidate will play a key role in
promoting physical, social, and emotional development
through structured physical education and movement-based programmes tailored to the individual needs of each child.
You will work
collaboratively with ABA Consultants, Behaviour Analysts, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Teaching Staff
to design and deliver engaging sessions that support our students' educational and therapeutic goals.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, deliver, and evaluate
individualised PE and movement programmes
for students with ASD and SEMH needs.
Collaborate closely with ABA Consultants
and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure physical activities align with each child's behavioural and learning plans.
Use
positive behaviour support techniques
during sessions to promote engagement and reduce anxiety or challenging behaviours.
Encourage participation, teamwork, and confidence through adaptive physical activities.
Monitor progress and provide feedback to the ABA and teaching teams to inform student development plans.
Maintain a
safe, supportive, and inclusive environment
for all students during physical activities.
Organise and lead
school-wide fitness and wellbeing events
.
Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and carers regarding student progress and achievements.
Qualifications & Skills
Proven experience in sports coaching, PE instruction, or physical activity programmes for children.
Experience working with children with Autism, SEMH, or additional learning needs (essential).
Strong understanding of behaviour management and positive reinforcement techniques.
Relevant qualification in Sports Coaching, Physical Education, or Child Development (Level 2 or higher preferred).
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across disciplines.
Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and child-centred practice.
Job Types: Part-time, Freelance, Zero hours contract
Pay: 33,000.00-35,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 7.5 per week
