We are looking to appoint a committed Primary School Support Worker to join our welcoming team, we are looking for someone that can bring experience and knowledge of working in a school.



The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and motivated individual to assist in maintaining high standards of school administration and operational effectiveness, while also contributing positively to the school's ethos.

As Primary School Support Worker at St Ninian's Primary School, you will:


Supervise our children during playtime and at lunch, including in the dinner hall Be able to demonstrate flexibility in approaches to support the staff team and our families Be able to listen to, and be responsive to, a range of requirements demonstrating the skills, qualities, and enthusiasm to further develop and build on the existing high standards within our school Be committed to continually enhancing knowledge and skills through working collegiately and through continuous professional development Be able to work independently and as part of the team is essential.

Skills & Experience Required

With minimum supervision you will carry out a wide range of routine clerical duties or tasks associated with a busy office environment:


Filing and photocopying and scheduling appointments or meetings for others Assist in promoting and raising the standards of children's experiences through the provision of quality support in school; providing pastoral support to the children by carrying out any specific role below at particular times depending on your deployment in the school Be able to respond to visitors in a prompt, welcoming and courteous manner Observe strict confidentiality, exercise tact and discretion in carrying out tasks Process confidential paper based or computerised information through creating and updating files, data input, data retrieval and filing in an accurate and timely way File and archive materials, as required.

Finance duties:


Complying with the Council's financial procedures, using the Council's financial software (Integra), processing of invoices and/or other financial documents, as required Updating financial spreadsheets in respect of the devolved school budgets, for example, printing and monthly reconciliation of reports and
pre-authorisation of invoices using Integra
Processing of orders through the Council's Procurement Systems and
processes
SEEMIS - Entering, updating and monitoring information relating to pupils and
teaching staff ensuring that it is accurate and up-to-date
Annual ScotXed Census Returns, liaising with staff in school, as required. Preparation of reports and annual returns from SEEMiS in line with authority standards and requirements, where appropriate Annual Set-up of Classes using Primary Planning Wizard Source supply staff using Supply Booking system on behalf of Senior Management.

You will be expected to support the wider life of the school such as:


Attend special seasonal events, trips, organisation of parents evenings and prize giving etc Build good and trusting relationships with children and families and adhere to child protection and equalities legislation. Attend to the personal needs of the children and assist in maintaining a healthy, safe and hygienic environment Provide support for children with specific health or medical needs where appropriate Become a trained first aider and administer First Aid as required to children and staff.

Experience in dealing with the public and the ability to work with the minimum of supervision are essential.



You must have a pleasant manner, an aptitude for PC work and a good understanding of office procedures.



Knowledge of Financial Record Keeping and procedures is essential.
