Job Description

Required from 1 January 2026, the Governors and Headteacher of Woodcocks' Well CE (VA) Primary School wish to appoint an enthusiastic, imaginative and inspiring teacher to enable our children to 'discover a world of wonder, empowered by God's spirit'.?The applicant must have experience of teaching mixed-aged classes across the primary phase. Initially this position will be in Year 1/2 however the applicant must be flexible in teaching across different stages and ages in the future.

The successful candidate will join a great team of educators at a happy and caring Christian school. We wish to appoint outstanding classroom practitioner who is committed to ensuring that all children reach their full potential and can guarantee high outcomes for all. The successful candidate will be able to work collaboratively, be committed to raising standards and have high expectations. It is essential that the candidate is a subject leader. It is desirable, not essential, that the candidate has led RE, RSHE or Computing.

The candidate will also be encouraged to engage in the full life of the school community and support our Christian ethos.

Woodcocks' Well CE (VA) Primary School is committed to safeguarding children and young people therefore all post holders are subject to appropriate vetting procedures. Appointment is subject to the completion of pre-employment checks which will include References (current employer along with a second reference), Health, Right to Work in the UK, DBS and a Declaration with regard to the Disqualification by Association Regulations.

We will also carry out an online search about you for information that is publicly available online. This will include social media accounts you may hold. This will only be carried out on shortlisted candidates and before interview. This processing of data will be conducted under the legal basis of Article 6(e) public task in line with the guidance laid out in para 221 of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) 2022. Any data collected during this search will be retained in line with our retention schedule which is available on request.

Shortlisting: Monday 1st December 2025.

School Visits prior to interview: Friday 21st November at 1:30pm, Tuesday 25th November at 9am, Wednesday 26th November at 1pm

Interviews: Wednesday 10 December 2025

Responsibilities (See job description for full details)



Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet curriculum standards. Manage classroom behaviour to create a positive learning environment. Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback. Collaborate with colleagues to develop school programs. Incorporate educational technology into lessons effectively. Support the social and emotional development of students. Engage with parents and guardians regarding student progress. Uphold the school's ethos and promote its values within the community. Lead on a number of subjects within school

Qualifications



Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Proven experience in primary education with mixed-age classes. Strong classroom management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learners. Knowledge of curriculum standards and assessment methods. Enthusiasm for fostering a positive learning environment. Ability to lead subjects Commitment to the school's Christian ethos.
