About the role:
As the Principal Architect you will be accountable for delivering through leadership, strategic direction, consulting, maintaining standards, and providing technology guidance to the UK Tote Group with the ultimate goal of achieving business objectives. You will Lead and develop architecture strategies, frameworks, and architecture governance processes, establishing long-term software and data architecture direction to ensure sound investment decisions and compliance with GDPR and Gambling and Security regulations.
What you'll be doing:
Architecture design authority and subject matter lead for key cross squad initiatives, examples include AWS platform strategy, Data Privacy / GDPR and data warehouse and product across all verticals
Lead the architectural vision with the senior engineering team, [technical] innovation across the key verticals, B2C, B2B and B2B2C

Design and implement the company's data platforms in line with the BI strategy and vision
Develop the architecture and tooling to ensure 24/7 operational excellence levels
Accountability for the technical strategy implementation, ensuring the company is using up to date and competitive technology, engaging with Engineering peers throughout the team
Delivery of architecture improvements, improving business and technical capability across data and product verticals
Ensuring data is provided in an effective and timely manner to feed reporting and 3rd party systems in order to support the Marketing, compliance and data platforms
Ensuring maintenance, support and release processes are high performing and reviewed regularly
Be the expert on data architecture trends and develop and mentor the teams skills & capabilities
Work alongside the product function to design performance measures and reports providing insight and measurements that drive commercial performance
Responsible for the management and implementation of platform security across cloud infrastructures
What you'll need:
Enterprise level architectural level experience, across solution, technical and enterprise level initiatives
Previous senior leader experience of managing architecture / engineering teams that hold and process high volume transactions, whilst integrating operational systems
Deep understanding and experience of best practices
Computer Science degree or similar
Previous in-depth experience in software engineering
Microsoft, AWS and Google cloud technology tooling
Demonstrable experience of leading on and understanding architectural challenges within highly regulated industries Data Protection, Information Security, Cyber, Gambling and gaming advantageous
Good working knowledge of the online gaming industry
Experience of delivering clear financial KPIS / OKR's and budget management
