Prepare and update electrical deliverables. The candidate will have particular experience and a strong background in either the Renewables Sector (Offshore Windfarms, Solar Power, Energy Storage Systems and Power Generation from Renewables in General) or Oil and Gas (Greenfield and Brownfield Engineering, both on and offshore). Capable of contributing to many areas as part of a small project team. Capable of originating documentation and working without supervision and with minimal external input. Inclined to mentor and deliver within timeframe, schedule and budget. To supervise and train staff.
Scope of Responsibilities
:
Responsible for electrical work scope across multiple projects with a focus on performance requirements tailored to meet the expectations of clients.
Responsible for the design of substations, both onshore and offshore, energy storage systems and AC/DC conversion systems.
Specifying and working on grid connections and performing grid compliance evaluation.
Responsible for the Design of Electrical Systems for Offshore and Onshore Installations in the UK, from Concept phase to Detail Design.
Leading the management of risks, programme, budget, and quality.
Accountable for the project controls that ensure timely delivery of the assigned deliverables against the project schedule, within budget and to the required level of quality.
Preparing or reviewing technical specification of MV/HV cables and other equipment.
Identifying and managing key technical interfaces across various work packages where Electrical team is involved.
Reviewing vendor and subcontractor documentation and evaluating against company requirements or specifications and local standards.
Managing changes in scope in a controlled manner, assessing their impact on project scope, schedule, budget, and risks.
Supporting our proposal teams in both technical and estimating for Proposal submission.
Represent DORIS UK with Clients on technical matters.
Direct and lead other junior engineers and designers as required.
Safety and Environmental Related Task:
Responsible for SHEQ activities.
Leading by example to maintain a strong SHEQ culture through visible safety leadership.
Ensure the implementation of adequate Health, Safety and Environmental work practices, procedures and methods to meet all statutory requirements and the Company SHEQ Management System.
Qualifications / Experience:
Candidates must hold a minimum of Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering combined with an extensive number of years of professional experience in design and engineering. Candidate must be registered with an Engineering Council or equivalent and preferably a Chartered Engineer.
Competencies & Soft Skills:
Electrical engineer, with experience as an electrical engineer in the renewables industry for offshore projects. Candidate should have:
Extensive relevant work experience in offshore wind and renewables sector, or Oil & Gas (or both)
Good organizational skills and a structured working approach with an eye for details while at the same time keeping the large overview
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing
Demonstrates a strong commitment to safety
Delivery focused and committed to achieving project and company goals
Flexible and able to comply and adapt to company or client requirements
Ability to interact with management and personnel at all levels, a committed team player
Confident and able to work on their own initiative
