An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to join the Corporate Finance Team at Hull City Council as a Principal Finance Officer. As a senior member of the Council finance team and you are CCAB or CIMA qualified, then this position may be of interest to you.



This permanent role is well suited to an individual that is looking to advance their career in finance, gain hands on experience in a busy public sector environment and access to future gain opportunities. We have flexible hybrid working arrangements, with a requirement to attend the office two days per week, and support career growth, knowledge and personal development.

As we work to deliver our Community and Council Plans to secure the best for our 269,000 residents, the finance function is a dynamic and influencing corporate team.



We are looking for a highly motivated, positive and team playing finance professional to provide valued support and advice to a range of services.



They will possess good accounting knowledge, who can interpret and analyse complex data along with a robust understanding of financial processes and procedures.



The role will provide a chance to lead on the setting of financial management standards across the Authority, with specific responsibilities for Capital Programme Management and Accounting.



The Council is currently replacing its ERP Financial Management System and the postholder will play a key role throughout the implementation phases and beyond.



The successful applicant will hold effective communication and analytical skills, working with diverse teams across a large organisation. As a leadership role within the finance function, this role is an ideal opportunity to further management skills and collective staff development.
