Join EFI Global UK as a Principal Forensic Investigator and play a pivotal role in uncovering the causes behind complex incidents while shaping best practices in safety and forensic investigation.
EFI Global UK, part of the internationally respected EFI Global Inc and Sedgwick Group, delivers impartial expert opinion in environmental consultancy and forensic investigations. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Principal Forensic Investigator (Mechanical) to join the team. This is a dynamic and multifaceted role that combines technical investigation with strategic support for health and safety processes across the department and wider Sedgwick organisation. The successful candidate will be involved in examining a broad spectrum of incidents in both domestic and commercial environments--from routine insurance claims to complex, high-value cases such as large marine losses.
The role offers a hands-on investigative element, requiring visits to incident sites and laboratories to collect evidence, interview witnesses, and occasionally dismantle machinery or equipment to determine the root cause of incidents. You may also be called upon to design and conduct tests in collaboration with external agencies, adding a practical and experimental dimension to your work.
Beyond investigations, you'll play a key role in promoting health and safety best practices, supporting internal procedures, and contributing to the team's reputation for technical expertise. This position demands a blend of engineering knowledge, analytical thinking, and interpersonal skills, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a varied and intellectually stimulating environment.
