:



The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing the thermal design process from concept to production. and support with the creation and maintaining of company rules, tools and methods. They will analyse new turbomachinery designs and update our current designs. During the creation process, they will ensure that our turbomachinery designs meet all the necessary requirements with respect to heat transfer and secondary air systems.


Responsibilities



Lead, update and maintain designs in association with heat transfer & SAS Manage multiple complex projects at the same time. Ensure our designs meet manufacturing, technical and customer requirements. Ensure that all design projects are completed within budget and on time. Contribute greatly to developing and maintaining rules, tools and methods associated with Heat Transfer & SAS. Communicate regularly with the IPT leads and Program Engineering Managers, as necessary, to meet project requirements. Lead the presentation of your work in internal design reviews with the Chief Engineer's Office. Ensure adherence of project schedule and the customer deliverables for assigned project. Major contributor in regular round-table meetings with the HT Technical Focal Points and other HT engineers on the project. Create HT summary documents regularly for the duration of the project. Provide assistance, guidance and mentoring to more junior HT engineer grades.


Experience and Skills:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a relevant technical degree. 15+ years of applied industry thermal design experience on turbomachinery/combustion hardware and secondary air systems. Highly C=capable in fundamental "hand-calculations" and understanding of practical design limitations. Skilled at managing compromise and characterising risk to produce balanced design solutions. Knowledge of turbomachinery cycle performance drivers and trade factors. Knowledge of cutting-edge technologies (Conjugate CFD, CMC). Heat Transfer software experience required, Easy5 experience advantageous. Strong organisational and communication skills. Ability to make technical presentations internally and to customers. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills: experience integrating work in a team, interfacing with customer, mentorship. Must be able to work with customers to define and document requirements, address technical concerns and provide project status. Work Environment



The work environment will include a combination of office and lab/workshop. Travel will be required from time to time throughout the UK and Europe. Employee will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
