Location: Cambridge, United Kingdom \xe2\x80\x93 Hybrid (~3 days a week in the office)

Employment type: Full-time regular (flexible working options available)

The job

As a Principal Platform Developer, you\xe2\x80\x99ll have hands-on experience working as part of a Platform team, leveraging your skills to create forward-facing solutions to aid and influence Stream-aligned teams.

As a member of our Cloud Development practice, you\xe2\x80\x99ll be an integral member of our agile Platform team helping to drive the design, architecture, and development of cutting-edge cloud solutions. Your leadership and influence will be key to inspiring and guiding other developers within the team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic design and implementation of complex cloud-based applications, ensuring they align with industry best practices whilst meeting business requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand project goals, and translate them into scalable, high-performing solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to other developers on the team, influencing their decisions and driving best practices.
  • Architect and develop cloud services, microservices, and serverless architectures, promoting a platform-first approach to drive integration and scalability.
  • Drive the adoption of cloud-native solutions, continuous integration, and continuous delivery practices across the organization.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring the platform\'s optimal performance and stability.
  • Promote and support upskilling initiatives, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to optimize development workflows.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in cloud computing.
  • Conduct training sessions, workshops, and knowledge sharing sessions to enhance the technical capabilities of the team.
Ideal experience
  • Hands-on experience working as part of a Platform team.
  • Experience developing with Azure or equivalent.
  • Demonstratable experience of cloud security principles, practices, and tools.
  • Demonstratable software development experience, ideally with a focus on Cloud technologies, preferably with C# & ASP.Net Core.
  • Well-versed in concepts such as CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-Code, PaaS etc.
  • Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker & Kubernetes.
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills, able to convey information clearly and concisely to technical and non-technical audiences.
