We are looking for a Principal psychologist to join the Integrated Residential Outreach Care (IROC) team on a fixed term contract for maternity cover. We also welcome applications from experienced senior psychologists who would like to develop their leadership and management skills. Secondments to this role can also be considered.



The Integrated Residential Outreach Care (IROC) service offers an integrated framework of system support that is both trauma informed and trauma responsive to children and young people (CYP). The framework supports CYP who present with the most complex psychological, emotional and behavioural distress with multiple needs.



IROC works with CYP under the care of the local authority placed in children's residential home where to safeguard a Deprivation of Liberty Order (DOL) may be in place. IROC plays a pivotal role in a pathway of care, supporting professionals and existing agencies by leading on multi-agency integrated care planning, clinical formulation, risk assessing and implementing a Quality Therapeutic Standards tool to improve outcomes for CYP placed in residential care.



In this role you will be expected to provide highly specialist expert advice guidance and consultation. You will contribute alongside the team for the implementation of key changes to improve the children in care pathways and the experience of CYP leaving CAMHS T4 hospital stepping down to a residential setting. The post holder will ensure that specialist training, supervision and specialist intervention is available to the system of care givers around the CYP.



We are a multi-disciplinary team that supports young people aged 13 -18 as part of the West Midlands CAMHS Provider Collaborative (WMCPC). The team includes nursing, psychology, occupational therapy, administrators and is expanding.



We work with young people at risk of Tier 4 admission. We work systemically with residential homes, social care, families, CAMHS and schools.



The team has a range of expertise in trauma, therapeutic parenting, systemic and group work, DBT and more.



This role allows for the opportunity to work systemically to improve outcomes for children and young people.
