The Role



As a Principal Robotics & Automation Solutions Architect you will be leading customer?facing discovery, definition, and delivery of advanced robotics and automation solutions. Operating at the intersection of business development and systems engineering, You will uncover client challenges, architects fit?for?purpose technical concepts with the engineering teams, and stewards each programme through to measurable impact.

Key Responsibilities



Opportunity Creation

Core Activities:

Partner with Createc's Account Managers to shape customer pipeline Conduct consultative customer workshops & discovery interviews Identify and map stakeholder ecosystem

Solution Definition

Core Activities:

Lead requirements elicitation and validation using Systems Engineering (SE) best practice Decompose high?level needs into functional/non?functional requirements & acceptance criteria Facilitate ideation sessions with internal robotics, sensing and software teams
Typical Outputs / Success Measures:

Approved requirements baseline Concept of Operations (ConOps) & high?level architecture
Business Case & Proposal

Core Activities:

Quantify value proposition, ROI and risk profile Author bids, proposals and grant applications Align solution scope, cost, and schedule with commercial strategy

Win rate on strategic bids Stakeholder buy?in to cost?benefit case
Project Mobilisation & Governance

Core Activities:

Translate requirements into work?breakdown structures and verification plans Support project managers in defining schedule, resourcing and risk registers

On?time, on?budget project launch Clear project KPIs and governance artefacts
Delivery Oversight & Value Realisation

Core Activities:

Chair technical design reviews and gate approvals

Coordinate stakeholder demonstrations and user acceptance testing

About You



As our perfect candidate you will:

Understand and articulate the interplay between people, processes, and technology, with the foresight to anticipate downstream impacts. Prioritise understanding business needs and drivers before recommending solutions, ensuring alignment with organisational goals. Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, building trust and clarity across stakeholders Promote cross-functional collaboration and demonstrate leadership without relying on formal authority. Make data-informed decisions, balancing innovation with practical delivery constraints to achieve effective outcomes.

Required Qualifications & Experience



Degree (BEng/BSc) in Systems Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or related STEM discipline. 5?+?years in technology consulting, solution architecture, or systems engineering--preferably within robotics, industrial automation, or advanced sensing. Demonstrated track record translating ambiguous client problems into delivered technical solutions. Familiarity with ISO/IEC/IEEE?15288, INCOSE SE Handbook, or equivalent frameworks. Working knowledge of agile, waterfall, and stage?gate development lifecycles. Ability to build ROI models, contribute to pricing strategy, and negotiate scope and deliverables. Proven capability for engaging C?suite, operations, engineering, and regulatory bodies. Excellent workshop facilitation, technical writing, and presentation skills. Fluency in English essential; additional languages an asset.

Desirable Skills



Industry domain knowledge in nuclear, energy, utilities, or hazardous?environment robotics. Familiarity with enterprise-grade hardware deployment at customer sites. Experience developing safety or ATEX?compliant systems. Exposure to data analytics, AI/ML, or digital twin technologies. Chartered Engineer (CEng) or INCOSE CSEP certification.

Travel & Work Pattern



Regular on?site visits to customer facilities, test labs, and integration sites (anticipated 4-6?days per month). Occasional international travel to conferences and partner locations (Europe, North America, APAC). Hybrid working model--flexible split between home office, company offices, and customer premises.
