Summary:

We are looking for a Principal Programmer to join our IT Mainframe Services team and grow with us! You will be working with a team of engineers from around the globe who are focused on providing z/OS, z/VM & z/Linux infrastructure in support of Rocket's R&D community. Our team supports over 150 z/OS environments running native and under z/VM, plus z/Linux images and VSE. Rocket has state-of-the-art hardware and keeps software levels very current to support our customers who do the same. You will install, customize and maintain mainframe software, manage mainframe hardware and provide technical guidance to the R&D community. You will have deep experience with RACF and have a security mindset. You will conduct problem determination, root cause analysis and provide first line of support (scheduled on-call) for the MF environment.

Technical Skills

Deep understanding of z/OS architecture, RACF and IBM utilities Solid background installing and maintaining IBM and ISV mainframe products Experienced with root cause analysis and problem determination on the z/OS platform Experience with participation in IBM and ISV beta programs Experience with DFSMS, SMPe, ServerPac, PDO, DFDSS, DFHSM, ICF Catalogs, HCD, IODF, REXX, JCL, DASD and Tape management products, Communications Server, SDSF, USS, GTF, IPCS

Soft Skills

Excellent communication and organizational skills, ability to manage large, multi-discipline technical projects Successful track record of leading technical projects and driving mainframe modernization initiatives Proven ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment
