Job Summary

The

Print Operator Specialist

is responsible for preparing artwork for print and operating a range of large format production equipment. This role requires a strong eye for detail, excellent knowledge of design software, and hands-on experience in a signage or print production environment. This position combines digital print production with hands-on sign manufacturing -- ensuring that all signage is produced to the highest quality standards, within deadlines, and according to client specifications. The role will see the candidate focusing on the below.

Illuminated and non-illuminated signs 3D fabricated letters and logos Shopfront and fascia signage Wayfinding and directional signage Window, wall, and vehicle graphics Event, retail, and trade show displays

Key Responsibilities

Large Format Printing & Finishing

Preparing accurate artwork files for print. Using RIP software such as Onyx and Fiery Maintain accurate colour calibration and ensure consistent print quality. Operating and maintaining wide format printers including: Vutek, HP, Roland & Mimaki Operating and maintaining Routers & Vinyl Cutters Manage print media inventory and maintain print equipment in good working order. Perform finishing processes -- laminating, trimming, mounting, hemming. Supporting the wider production team as needed Track and report production progress to the Production Manager.

Experience / Desired

2+ years of experience in signage production, large-format printing, or a related manufacturing environment.

Proficient in RIP software and knowledgeable in print workflows.

Skilled in operating and maintaining wide-format printers, laminators, plotters, cutters, and flatbed or similar equipment.

Comprehensive knowledge of print materials, substrates, colour management, and finishing processes.

Exceptional attention to detail with a practical, solutions-focused approach.

Strong problem-solving abilities and solid mechanical aptitude.

Effective time-management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise workloads.

Able to work independently, take ownership of projects, and manage tasks with minimal supervision.

Collaborative team player with clear communication and coordination skills.
