As a Procurement Category Manager, you will take the lead in developing and implementing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives within your remit. Your responsibilities extend to innovation, legislation, and technology, ensuring that our procurement practices align with our Net Zero targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead ESG initiatives within your areas of responsibility, incorporating innovation, legislation, and technology.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with key suppliers, leveraging their resources to deliver high-quality products and services while achieving ESG targets.
  • Oversee the supply chain management of key category contracts, incorporating effective and measurable Key Performance Indicators with a focus on ESG factors.
  • Drive compliance with responsible procurement strategies, actively managing vendor performance to ensure every pound spent contributes to a wider purpose.
  • Engage with suppliers to understand and support their transition to net zero in alignment with HC-One\'s Net Zero targets.
  • Mitigate the risk of supplier compliance breaches by actively managing legal documentation such as contracts, insurance, and registrations.
  • Review and enhance the approach to supply chain audits, contributing to the development of a roadmap for improvement.
  • Provide continuous market intelligence, advising on best practices for sustainable procurement, trends, and regulations within your areas of responsibility.
  • Collaborate with and lead cross-functional project teams to ensure procurement strategies align with corporate objectives.
  • Develop long-term value generation and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Mentor and coach Procurement Assistants to ensure targets, objectives, and service levels are met.

About You With 5 years of experience in Procurement and MCIPS qualified, or willing to work towards, ideally you are Degree qualified, Carbon Literacy Certified and have experience in a large multi-site environment, including understanding of GHG protocol, carbon accounting, and reporting tools (CDP, Ecovardis).

You have commercial acumen in line with business scale and spend and have excellent customer service, project management and planning skills, and ideally have experience with data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI).

All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and to undertake additional training in associated areas.
