Permanent, full time (37.5 hpw)

Pay \xc2\xa340,000 to \xc2\xa345,000 negotiable based on skills and experience, and great benefits including Health Cash Plan too!

Typical day as a Procurement Category Manager

  • Focus on reducing and optimising external expenditure and ensuring adherence to procurement policy.
  • Develop and implement category strategies and tender processes for high value, complex spend categories.
  • Manage relationships with major suppliers driving performance and improvements.
  • Building and enhancing relationships with other internal departments and suppliers to enhance operational performance.
  • Identify and leverage opportunities for Home Group\xe2\x80\x99s customers, through the provision of products and services established through Procurement contracts.

You bring
  • Extensive experience of leading sourcing and tendering, having led and delivered optimal sourcing strategies and solutions for high value complex categories.
  • Extensive experience in category management, including contract law and the ability to understand commercial contracts with minimal support from legal professionals.
  • Commercially minded with strong negotiation and influencing skills to deliver great outcomes with suppliers.
  • You will have knowledge of latest purchasing theory and practice including awareness of the latest e-procurement tools, and a CIPS qualification would be highly desirable.
  • Strongly customer focussed able to place customers and social value at the heart of your approach and instil that in your team.
  • Relevant experience within Corporate Services and / or Maintenance/JCT would be desirable.

  • We work a hybrid working pattern.
  • While we anticipate this to be a full-time role, we may be open to agreeing a work pattern with you, please let us know at interview what you are looking for.
  • You\xe2\x80\x99ll manage your own diary, so if you need to nip out to walk the dog or do the school run, we\xe2\x80\x99re ok with that!
  • Able to use technology for communicating with colleagues and external partners, the supplier lifecycle management system and excel for analysis purposes.
