We're looking for a dynamic
Procurement Coordinator
to help drive operational excellence. In this vital role, you'll be responsible for ensuring timely procurement of goods and materials, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and providing critical support to inventory management and reporting activities. Key Responsibilities
Carry out all activities in full compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental legislation, within company policies and procedures.
Report any unsafe acts or conditions observed, using the Near Miss system, in accordance with responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act.
Ensure adherence to Supply Chain Policy governance and the Chemring Operations Framework.
Monitor and track all purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of goods and materials.
Communicate proactively and regularly with vendors to obtain accurate updates on order status.
Drive best practice with suppliers to resolve fulfilment issues efficiently.
Highlight potential supply chain risks and raise them with the Procurement team in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate system records of procurement activities, including order confirmations and delivery dates.
Act as governance lead for indirect Epicor requisitions, liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
Lead on purchase order metrics, ensuring timely confirmations and managing late deliveries.
Build and maintain effective relationships with external vendors.
Act as the point of contact for onsite vehicle repairs.
Support inventory management processes and maintain accurate stock records.
Prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Provide flexible support within the wider Supply Chain function (Planning, Stores/Inventory).
Undertake ad hoc administrative activities and projects as directed by the Line Manager.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
Experience in a Manufacturing Procurement environment (training will be provided if needed)
Strong time management and organisational skills
Interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Experience using ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Desirable:
Commercial and financial awareness
Understanding of market pricing structures
Product and industry knowledge
Inventory management awareness
