As Project Procurement Manager Country Lead UK for RWE OPEA\'s growing Wind & PV pipeline within our OPEA Procurement team, you will be responsible to define & implement the supplier country strategy for the UK market embedded into the global strategy. You act as main Procurement representative towards the local management team and provide local guidance to other Procurement team members supporting the disciplinary & functional manager employed outside the country. Further you also ensure that lessons learned are shared with the OPEA Procurement team as well as, that cross-OPEA bundling possibilities are identified and implemented to bring additional value to the business.

In your function as Project Procurement Manager you act as Procurement Single Point of Contact for the PV & Solar projects you take responsibility for all procured packages - TSA, SMA, EPC and/or BoP contracts - during the development and construction phase. Further you lead the optimization of our supply chain measures throughout the entire project life cycle both from project and project portfolio perspective.

Your future:

  • Develop and implement close collaboration with the local management team to ensure that Procurement strategies meet the country requirements
  • Manage the negotiation of large and complex project contracts (including TSA, SMA, EPC and/or BoP contracts) for PV & Wind project in multidisciplinary and international teams
  • Develop, implement and manage purchasing strategies for these contracts
  • Define and implement the supplier country strategy for the UK market
  • Optimize and standardize the tendering process for the project development and construction contracts in line with local needs and in close collaboration with project stakeholders
  • Develop and implement framework agreements
  • Develop and implement an active supplier relationship management with the suppliers for PV & Wind Balance of Plant contracts
  • Develop and implement an active stakeholder management with colleagues from the development, construction and service department
  • Interface management with Global Category Procurement for PV modules and Wind Turbine Generators and other support functions like i.e. Finance, Risk Controlling and Legal
  • Conduct assessment of suppliers, subcontractors and consultants including audits and complaints management.
  • Observe regularly the possibility to find new, alternative and more advanced vendors.
  • Provide cost estimation for new photovoltaic plants and grid interconnection works.
  • Prepare and review decision templates for the management including risk mitigation and cost-benefit analysis.
Your profile:
  • Several years of relevant experience in the PV & Wind industry preferred within Europe, UK preferred
  • Several years of relevant experience in management and processing of large and complex tenders for PV & Wind EPC contracts and/or for power plant / industry or infrastructure projects (Capex / Opex)
  • Ability to build rapport quickly and effectively and maintain key stakeholder relationships within suppliers
  • Extensive experience in identifying and assessing commercial contractual risks, developing strategies for risk prevention/control
  • Successfully completed studies in engineering or business economics, additional legal qualification advantageous
  • Ability to negotiate multiple contract packages, to manage stakeholders and to lead multidisciplinary teams
  • Intercultural understanding and experience in working with different cultures
  • Very good communication skills (spoken and written) in English
  • Willingness to travel as well as the willingness to temporary stays abroad to support our international PV & Wind projects.
