As a Product Design Engineer you will:

Undertake technical and commercial research related to NPD Produced detailed written reports and documents and specifications Generate new design concepts and ideas using digital sketching techniques Create 3D CAD models of parts, sub-assemblies and assemblies Able to actively engage with AI tools to accelerate design outputs Demonstrate the effectiveness of new designs through prototyping and testing Present your design ideas to team members and clients in a professional manner Engage with third parties such as suppliers to source any required components Visit relevant events to accumulate industry knowledge Be able to work under pressure and deliver projects on time.

The successful candidate should possess the following qualities:

Good understanding of mechanical engineering principles and product development processes Good understanding of 3D CAD systems, e.g. Autodesk Fusion 360 Good understanding of high volume production processes, e.g. injection moulding, metal fabrication and machining Good understanding of 3D printing processes, e.g. FDM, SLA, SLS, Polyjet Hardworking and committed to achieving design excellence Flexible and have the ability to learn and apply new knowledge Methodical, analytical in their approach and able to critique their own designs Able to verbally and visually communicate design ideas to individuals and groups At least 5 years experience in a commercial environment; ideally design consultancy MSc / MEng Product Design, Engineering Design (or similar). We would also welcome applicants with BSc / BEng level qualifications.
