We are Spacehouse. A media company created in 2000 and we have a great reputation for quality of service within our core markets. Spacehouse own and manage a number of sector leading websites, magazines and events in the B2B sector, specialising in the environment, local government, transport and health sectors.

This role offers a great deal of autonomy and creative responsibility. As the sole designer within the Spacehouse business, but liaising with design and production teams across our group, you'll lead design output across a wide range of formats - from print and editorial design to digital and motion outputs. You'll be expected to uphold high creative standards, drive visual consistency, and take full ownership of production across both client and in-house projects.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING



You will be responsible for setting creative standards, managing workload, and ensuring delivery under tight deadlines. In this capacity, you will liaise directly with external stakeholders, representing the design function with professionalism and insight. Key responsibilities include:

Lead the end-to-end design and production of our client's fortnightly printed healthcare magazine. Production of our own in-house publications across print and digital formats. Design bespoke display and recruitment ads across a range of clients and sectors for various publications. Design and deliver in-house and client web assets such as MPUs and leaderboard banners. Create impactful event collateral for our clients and in-house brands including exhibition stands, digital screens, flyers and other branded assets. Expertly designed presentations such as media pack presentations, sponsorship package presentations and editable proposal tenders. Conceptual development work for new projects, brands, logos, publications and campaigns. Manage and maintain the artwork archive on the design server, ensuring all packaged files are correctly stored and accessible for future use Occasional motion graphic and video editing work when required.

ABOUT YOU



Thrive with high levels of autonomy, taking full ownership of design decisions, production processes and project outcomes.

Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Broad creative skill set including conceptual creative, graphic design, branding, typography, layout & composition, motion/video and technical artworking & preflight capabilities.
Exceptional attention to detail and proof-reading skills are a MUST.

Highly adaptable when working across multiple brands, formats, and projects and able to pivot quickly to meet last minute changes and requests. Thorough knowledge of both print and digital production and output formats. Confident communicator, via email, in person and over the phone and capable of liaising directly with clients and external stakeholders. Proactive and able to work on own initiative.

Microsoft: Word PowerPoint Excel Adobe Creative Cloud: InDesign Photoshop Illustrator Acrobat

EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS



Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar design role. Experience working on printed publications. Knowledge and understanding of print and digital formats (CMYK & RGB) Background in B2B environments, with a solid grasp of business communication and branding needs. Experience collaborating across multiple internal and external parties. You must provide a compelling portfolio showcasing a range of both print AND digital design projects.

PACKAGE



Salary: 28,000 TO 32,000 (D.O.E., pro-rata as applicable) 4 or 5 day week.

(minimum 2 days a week in our Macclesfield office). Holiday entitlement 20 days (pro-rata) PLUS up to 5 days extra over Christmas & New Year and all Bank Holidays. Company laptop and mobile phone.
