About the role
As a Product Designer in The Telegraph's App team, you'll take ownership of delivering well-defined design solutions with confidence and autonomy. This role builds on junior experience, with greater expectations for independent problem solving and quality of craft.
Key responsibilities

  • Design user flows, wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity interfaces for projects of medium scope.
  • Solve problems with a user-centred approach, balancing user needs with business goals.
  • Work independently to deliver projects, with guidance from seniors in more complex cases.
  • Ensure outputs are accessible, responsive and meet high craft standards.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and product managers to bring designs to life.
  • Contribute feedback and improvements to The Telegraph Design System as appropriate.
  • Present design rationale clearly to project teams and stakeholders.
About you
  • Experience delivering product design work in a professional setting.
  • Confident working independently within a brief, while knowing when to seek support.
  • Strong eye for detail and consistency in design execution.
  • Collaborative and communicative, able to build rapport with colleagues across functions.
  • Motivated to improve your craft and develop towards senior responsibilities.
Essential skills
  • Portfolio demonstrating user-centred design process and outcomes.
  • Proficiency with product design tools (Figma preferred).
  • Knowledge of accessibility and usability principles, with evidence of applying them in practice.
  • Experience collaborating with engineers to deliver designs into production.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
Useful skills
  • Experience in subscriptions, publishing, e-commerce or related products.
  • Exposure to user research activities and ability to apply findings to designs.
  • Ability to create supporting assets such as icons or illustrations.
  • Familiarity with experimentation or optimisation methods (A/B testing).
