Job Summary



The Product Developer is responsible for managing the development of garments from concept to bulk ex-factory. This role works closely with product management, design, technical, and sourcing teams to ensure products are developed in line with brand standards, timelines, and target costs. A strong focus is placed on accurate garment costing and negotiation, supplier coordination, and development tracking to secure on time bulk deliveries.

Key Responsibilities



Product Development



Manage end-to-end product development from design hand-off to bulk ex-factory Ensure Tech Packs (TP) are complete and understandable to manufacturers Ensure alignment between creative, technical, and commercial/data requirements

Costing & Margin Analysis



Work with product manager, sourcing, designers and garment technicians to ensure optimum fabric, trims and fit choices Analyze detailed cost sheets (materials, labor, trims, packaging, etc.) and challenge manufacturers if necessary Work with suppliers to negotiate best pricing without compromising quality, with manager Track and report margins vs. targets throughout the development cycle Monitor cost drivers (material prices, labor, logistics)

Supplier & Factory Coordination



Coordinate TP, samples, and feedback with vendors Request and evaluate prototypes, salesman samples, and pre-production samples in coordination with design/ manager if needed Manage timelines with manufacturers Manage MOQ with manufacturers Maintain vendor compliance in line with sustainability strategy, quality standards and EU/UK regulations

Fittings & Approvals



Coordinate fittings with technical and design teams Track sample comments and ensure timely implementation Coordinate approval of construction, fabrics, trims, labeling and fit

Critical path



Coordinate critical path adherence with design for colour palettes, fabric brief, samples developments and approvals Ensure critical path adherence with vendors on samples and approvals (labdips, trims...) departure dates Negotiate bulk estimated departure dates with vendors and facilitate implementation in coordination with logistics

Documentation & Systems



Maintain accurate and up-to-date product information in our system Track development calendars and ensure all deadlines are met Support production handover with verified TP
The salary range for this role is between

40,000- 45,000

depending on experience.

Requirements



To be Successful in this Role, You Must Have:



Experience:

5+ years in apparel development, sourcing, or production

Education:

Degree in Fashion, Product Development, Textiles, or related field

Costing Knowledge:

Strong understanding of garment construction and cost components

Technical Understanding:

Able to read tech packs, BOMs, construction specs

Communication Skills:

Clear with internal teams and external suppliers

Software Proficiency:

Excel (advanced), PLM, Adobe Illustrator, ERP/Costing tools Detail-oriented, organized, strong time management

Nice to Have but Not Essential



Experience with sustainable materials and sourcing

Familiarity with EU compliance (labelling, COO, REACH, etc.

Familiarity with apparel safety regulations (kids, etc.)

Knowledge of international manufacturing markets (China, SEA, EU)

The salary range for this role is between

40,000- 45,000 depending on experience
