Overview:
As Product Development Scientist, you will play a crucial role in developing our polyester film product portfolio by project managing and scaling up product developments from pilot line to production line. Working within the Technology and Innovation (T&I) Team, you will have the self-motivation and willingness to continuously improve your knowledge and skill set whilst working to the highest safety standards.
Responsibilities:
Manage the product development of polyester film products through a stage gate process from concept to full scale manufacturing.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including technical, manufacturing, quality, product stewardship and commercial groups, to ensure alignment from lab to market.
Drive scale-up activities and ensure downstream process compatibility.
Prepare business cases for new developments, including calculation of estimated trial and product costs.
Prepare project plans and progress updates.
Design, coordinate, document and review pilot and production line trials.
Work as part of a team to operate and identify improvements to the pilot line.
Prepare technical reports and presentations of a high quality.
Present technical results and learnings to internal and external partners.
Generate and analyse technical data according to the end application and product requirements.
Contribute to broader T&I initiatives across the global team as required.
Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with health, safety and quality standards.
Qualifications:
Degree in a Science discipline, or significant experience in a similar role.
Previous experience in product development and/or manufacturing environment preferred.
Self-motivated and results driven with excellent attention to detail.
A methodical approach.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
A strong safety focus, both within own work and that of others.
Ability to write procedures, trial plans and reports, and other related documents of a high quality.
Ability to effectively communicate and present findings to a variety of audiences.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Computer literate.
Be adaptable and flexible to support trials outside of normal working hours, when required.
