We have a vacancy for a

Product Engineer

to join our Product and Innovations team at our manufacturing facility in Rotherham. The Product Engineer is an integral role of the Product Development Team and will support the development of new Orkot products through the full product life cycle.


Hours of work



This position is 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday (flexi time is available).


What be you'll doing?





In this role, you will be involved in technical aspects of the development cycle including design, development trials and analysis; you will also have a commercial involvement, including customer training, market research and sales support. Tasks and responsibilities associated with this role include:


Market Research

+ Conduct market research
+ Analyse data and trends
+ Liase and discuss topics with various stakeholders including end users, customers, segment directors, sales and applications engineers, and MARCOMMs

Product Development

+ Develop product specifications
+ Develop test protocols
+ Carry out trials and experiments
+ Analyse data, including the use of statistical tools such as capability analysis
+ Produce reports
+ Present data to various stakeholders, including peers, management, sales teams and customers
+ Complete product/application calculations
+ Contribute to design work

Marketing

+ Design, review and present marketing material.
+ Deliver presentations to internal and external customers

Sales

+ Support creation of sales plans
+ Train sales teams

Other

+ Deliver against relevant targets and goals

What we need from you:





To be successful in this role you will possess:


+ A bachelor's degree in engineering, a related technical subject or equivalent experience. + Good knowledge of the innovation and R&D process
+ A minimum of 3 years' experience in a product engineering role in a manufacturing environment

Ability to manage time effectively Has a keen attention to detail Possess good organisational skills An effective communicator Good numeracy skills and sound technical understanding Project management IT - MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), Minitab (desirable) Problem solving and creativity - adept at breaking down problems and presenting solutions Caple of interpreting and translating data Competent used of 3D CAD - (NX desirable)

Although not essential, it is desirable that you have previous experience with composites and bearings.
