Production Administrator

Barnoldswick, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

We're a small, long-established company with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality processing and finishing services to the aerospace sector. In addition to this core focus, we also undertake specialised subcontract work for a select group of non-aerospace clients. We're looking for someone proactive, adaptable, tech-savvy and meticulous to join our tight-knit team as a central point of administrative support. If you thrive in a role that blends precision, teamwork, and independence, this could be the perfect fit for you.

The Role:

You'll be the central point of contact, the person who keeps the office running smoothly and ensures the administrative side of our production jobs is handled with precision. You'll be working closely with our production team, clients, and suppliers in a hands-on environment. If you thrive on variety and take pride in getting the details right, you will fit right in.

What We're Looking For in You:

A Confident Communicator:

You're comfortable and professional on the phone and via email, whether you're talking to a major client, a supplier, or one of our engineers on the shop floor.

Systems-Oriented:

You are proficient with computers and can quickly get to grips with new software. Daily use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) for order processing, quoting, and record-keeping is essential.

Meticulous and Accurate:

In our line of work, precision is everything. You must have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to getting things right the first time, from data entry to final dispatch paperwork.

A Master of Organisation:

You can juggle multiple tasks without dropping the ball. You'll be managing new job enquiries, supplier invoices, and team requests simultaneously, so being able to prioritise is key.

Proactive Problem-Solver:

You don't wait to be told what to do. You use your initiative to resolve administrative hurdles and are always looking for ways to make our office processes run more efficiently.

Your Experience & Skills:

Essential:

Proven experience in an office administration, reception, or customer support role.

Highly Beneficial:

Previous experience working within a production, manufacturing, or engineering office.

A Bonus:

Experience working in an ISO 9001 or AS/EN9100 environment, particularly with document control, would be a great asset, but we will provide full training for the right person.

Required Software Skills:

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and accurate data entry skills.

A Typical Day Could Involve:

Order Management:

Handling the entire administrative lifecycle of a job--taking the initial enquiry, preparing the quote, booking the job onto our system, and processing all the final paperwork for dispatch.

Office Hub:

Acting as the first point of contact, answering phone calls, managing correspondence, and keeping our filing systems (both digital and physical) in perfect order.

Team Support:

Being the go-to person for the team, providing administrative assistance to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations.

Process Improvement:

You'll be encouraged to identify opportunities to streamline our office procedures and contribute to our commitment to continuous improvement.
Working Hours:

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8.30 am - 12.00 pm (17.5 Hours Total with a potential to increase) Contract: Temporary position with a view to last for 6 months and scope to go permanent Overtime Opportunities: During busy periods, there may be opportunities for extra hours
