Job Title: Production Assistant

Location: Ashchurch, Tewkesbury

Hours:

38 hours per week, worked Monday - Thursday (07:00 - 17:00)

Salary Package: 24,500

The type of person we are looking for

This is a new position within an established and growing Production team. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will have an interest in technology and computers.

Quality is at the heart of what we do, so you must have impeccable attention to detail, with the ability to follow instructions, both written and verbal. This role may involve some physical elements; therefore, you must be reasonably fit.

The Role

This role encompasses the following responsibilities:

Read and understand wiring schedules. Prepare a kit of components ready for assembly Apply both cable wrap labels and heat shrink numbering Strip cables by hand Fit various crimps Work to IPC 620 inspection standard Perform testing of prepared cables Maintain accurate records Communicate technical issues and escalations Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently. Maintain a clean and safe working environment. You will also be required to assist the Production Technician and Quality Team with different aspects of production assembly work, from kit preparation through to job completion and packaging. Provide support, as required, to other areas of the Business
Key Competencies, Experience & Knowledge

Strong attention to detail and high-quality workmanship. Reliable, motivated, and able to work as part of a team. Some interest in technology and computer hardware Confident operating/working with computer systems Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions A high level of manual dexterity required Ability to work efficiently and in a tidy and organised manner Ability to communicate effectively with other employees verbally Must be reasonably fit and able as the role may involve a physical element Ability to absorb new skills quickly through mentor and spot training Keen to learn, progress and develop knowledge across a wide range of products Must be flexible and adaptable to change with a positive and driven attitude and perform other duties in any area of the business as determined by the business Excellent work ethic with the ability to work to deadlines Due to the nature of the work carried out, all applicants must be eligible for SC Clearance
