Why Are We Hiring:

As The Moss Way continues to grow, we are looking for a dedicated Food Production Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in supporting our production operations as we expand to meet the increasing demand for our Irish Sea Moss and other nature-based products. The position is ideal for someone with food handling experience who is eager to learn and grow within our company. While we require Level 2 food and hygiene certification, we are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates a passion for food safety, quality, and production excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the production of Irish Sea Moss gels and other herbal products, following established protocols. Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards, including Level 2 food and hygiene requirements. Handle, measure, and mix ingredients with accuracy and care to maintain product quality. Operate basic production equipment and assist in its cleaning and maintenance. Help maintain organised production areas by following strict hygiene and sanitation protocols. Participate in quality checks during production to ensure consistency and adherence to standards. Prepare raw materials and ensure proper inventory control by assisting with stock monitoring and restocking. Package finished products for distribution, adhering to quality and safety guidelines. Maintain accurate production records and assist with documentation related to food safety compliance. Support the Production Lead and collaborate with other team members to meet production deadlines.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

Food Handling Experience: Previous food production or handling experience is preferred.

Level 2 food and hygiene Certification: Preferred but not required. We are happy to train candidates with a growth mindset and a willingness to learn.

Basic Knowledge of Food Safety Regulations: Understanding of hygiene practices and basic food safety principles.

Attention to Detail: Ability to follow precise instructions and ensure product quality.

Organisational Skills: Capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Stamina: Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods and handling physical tasks, such as lifting raw materials.

Desired Characteristics:Team Player: Works well with others, contributing positively to the production team.

Growth Mindset: Willing to learn new skills and take on challenges.Passion for Wellness: Interest in herbal products and natural supplements is a bonus.
