Overview of the role

He-Man is looking to recruit a Production & Continuous Improvement Engineer who actively takes a lead in production engineering and continuous improvement whilst carrying out the production planning process for the factory.

The individual should be driven, motivated and passionate about change and must have personal attributes in line with the company's Core Employee characteristics

Goal orientated, can do attitude will enable the individual to work at all levels of the business to significant impact and improve both the planning of the factory and the production processes.

The individual will report into the Manufacturing Manager who will guide and support them using established leadership principles, he/she will grow and progress you through succession planning.

The individual will work closely with materials controller and together will ensure all manufacture and purchased material is scheduled in accordance with the production plan.

The individual will drive process improvement projects in through the business but mainly in manufacturing and will be instrumental in delivery continuous improvement and cost down projects.

Responsibilities

15% Production planning 85% Production Engineering and Continuous improvement.

Production / CI

Actively identify and lead the continuously improvement activities with regards to visualisation, Flow and the elimination of waste. 5S-5R-Poke Yoke-Kaizen.

Working with department Managers, leads, cell leaders and team leaders, review the operation processes for efficiency gains / losses and work on developing smarter methods.

Define and implement data gathering to monitor and improve on the company's Utilisation, Efficiency and Productivity (UEP).

Review and update work instructions / SOP's on processes that require improvement.

Play an integral role on the building and checking of routings within the company's ERP system

Planning



Interpret the daily MRP suggestions alongside the company budgets and forecast.

Plan the factory throughput based on those requirements, schedule, enact and issue works orders accordingly.

Lease with Sales order processing and the Production office teams to determine / asses best utilisation of stock to satisfy customer demand.

Define and implement and monitor capacity plans of the factory.

Structure and maintain the master data to enable efficient loading of the factory tasks as well as the sign off and the structuring of new parts based on the business best practices.

Work closely with the materials controller to ensure the businesses MRP is running correctly and driving the requirement.

To step in as back up in times of absence of the materials controller

To support in any other tasks that are required and are within your capabilities

Key skills required for the position

Essential skills:

3-5 Production - industrial - CI engineering role experience. Lean / Six sigma green belt qualified Proven track record in lean elimination of waste 5S-5R-Kaizen Experience in manufacturing scheduling / production planning Self-motivated, self-starter, energetic and enthusiastic. IT literate especially Excel and SQLs Self-reliant, dependable, reliable, resourceful and conscientious. Able to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. The ability to think creatively and exercise sound judgement in advising on mitigation of risks. Personal attributes

Monday - Thursday: 07:30 to 16:00

Friday: 07:30 to 15:00

30 mins lunch - total of 39 hrs per week
