Proposed Salary Range: 29,000 - 39,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
Please note this role may require some early starts, late finishes, or occasional weekend work depending on programme needs.
Overseas travel may also be required depending on production needs.
Purpose of The Role

BBC Audio London is looking for a Production Coordinator to provide vital logistical and operational support to some of the most iconic radio and podcast programmes in the UK and beyond.
You'll be part of a dynamic team producing daily live and pre-recorded content for national radio networks, BBC Sounds, and the BBC World Service. It's a role where no two days are the same - and where your contribution truly matters.

Your Key Responsibilities and Impact
As a Production Coordinator, you'll report to a Production Manager and work across multiple programmes. Your core responsibilities will include:
Production Support & Logistics

• Coordinating production resources and schedules to ensure smooth delivery
• Supporting teams with studio timings, guest management, and on-location logistics
• Managing pre- and post-production documentation (e.g., metadata, music reporting, billings)
• Booking and monitoring travel arrangements - including exciting overseas trips for special productions and international recordings

Financial & Business Administration

• Planning and tracking production budgets
• Processing contributor and freelancer payments
• Negotiating fees for presenters (ad hoc docs/short series)
• Ensuring all production activities meet BBC's compliance and sustainability guidelines

Team & Resource Coordination

• Scheduling staff and freelance teams
• Managing IT access and software licences (e.g. Descript)
• Coordinating rights clearances and contracts
• Managing listener correspondence and studio/workshop bookings

Your Skills and Experience
We're looking for someone organised, proactive, and enthusiastic about the world of audio. You'll need to be confident managing multiple demands while keeping your eye on the detail.
Essential Skills & Experience

• Experience managing budgets, resources, and schedules
• A demonstrable passion for radio/audio production (live and pre-recorded experience preferred)
• Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities
• Strong written communication and attention to detail
• Confidence in liaising with a wide range of stakeholders
• Discretion, tact, and resilience under pressure
• Experience with BBC systems is Desireable
