Toolmaker / Mechanical Engineering Project Role - Product Development Focus
Are you a hands-on engineer with a background in toolmaking or mechanical design?
We're working exclusively with a highly innovative engineering business that is growing their product development team. Our client operates in a regulated, high-quality manufacturing environment and is looking for a technically minded individual to support the
design and development of production tooling and fixtures
for new and existing product lines.
This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of end-to-end engineering projects--from initial concept through to testing and implementation--while developing your skills in both workshop and CAD environments.
What You'll Be Doing:
Leading the
design and development of production tooling and fixtures
, working closely with manufacturing and senior engineers
Creating and refining tooling using
toolroom/workshop-based machinery
Managing small-scale projects and ensuring timelines and quality standards are met
Producing technical documentation including drawings, part lists, and usage instructions
Assisting in the
development of product test methods
, including data analysis
Collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams such as Quality and Sales
Occasionally travelling within the UK or internationally to support project implementation
What We're Looking For:
Strong hands-on experience with
toolroom/workshop machinery
Working knowledge of
3D CAD software
(e.g. SolidWorks)
Either a
degree in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design
, or a
time-served background in Tool Design or Toolmaking
Excellent communication and documentation skills (MS Office & Adobe tools)
A self-starter with a practical approach and attention to detail
