We're looking for a talented and driven

Production Design Engineer

to join our forward-thinking engineering team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting the transition from design to production and driving ongoing improvements in a growing business with opportunities for career progression.

Key Responsibilities:



Adopt developed product and transition to production for introduction to the market within a fast paced dynamic engineering environment. Complete product design improvements from concept, design, support, build and installation. Assist production with engineering support and guidance. Co-ordinate with colleagues to support the sales team with technical specifications, sales drawings, site visits and technical advice. Meet regularly with Manufacturing Engineering Manager and Design Team to ensure effective communication of information relative to potential business improvement initiatives. Participate in continuous improvement activities to improve production, product quality and customer satisfaction. Co-ordinate with other departments relative to Engineering Design. Follow company processes relating to equipment design. Produce CAD models and drawings using 2D and 3D CAD systems. Ensure drawings meet the company's design specifications. Source materials and components relative to any new product improvement designs, ensuring value for money. Represent the company at relevant exhibitions and trade shows as required for the purpose of providing technical product expertise. Provide technical support and assist After sales with customer enquiries. Uphold the Core Values of the company and work to achieve the wider organisational objectives as detailed in the Corporate Plan. Achieve high standards of personal performance, through meeting agreed personal targets and undertaking training as required. Fulfill the legal Health and Safety duties placed on employees by:
- Taking reasonable care of your own health & safety and that of others who may be affected by what you do or do not do;

- Co-operating with the company on Health & Safety matters;

- Ensuring that you use work items provided by the company correctly and in accordance with the training and instruction received, including personal protective equipment (PPE);

- Ensuring that you do not interfere with or misuse anything provided for health, safety, or welfare purposes.

PERSON SPECIFICATION - PRODUCTION DESIGN

ENGINEER



Essential Criteria

Qualifications/Experience & Knowledge



Good standard of education (to include English and Maths) with

5

years' design experience OR Educated to degree in an Engineering discipline with 1years' design experience. 1 years' experience with CAD design. Awareness of relevant safety standards. Design experience gained in a materials handling manufacturing environment.

Desirable Criteria

Experience of hydraulic systems. Experience of electrical control systems. Experience of diesel engine installations. Project management experience. Solid Works or Pro/Engineer experience. Research and Development experience.

Skills and Competencies

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, including effective presentation and influencing skills. Ability to be creative and innovative. Well developed analytical, innovative and problem-solving abilities. Be solution focused, with the ability to work on own initiative. Good organisational, planning and time management and team working skills. IT literate and competent in the use of Microsoft Office ie Outlook, Excel and Word.

Working hours and flexibility:
