Shift:

Rotating 3 week shift pattern - Day Shift 6am - 2pm, Back Shift 2pm - 10pm, Night Shift 10pm to 6am

Salary:

The role offers a starting package of around 45,000, inclusive of shift allowance. With regular overtime (typically one Saturday in four), your annual earnings could rise to approximately 48,000.

After completing training and gaining experience in the role, total earnings typically increase to between 50,000 and 54,000 per year.

We now have a fantastic opportunity for a

Production Engineer

to join our team at our modern Butlerfield site in Bonnyrigg. You'll work in a fast-paced food production environment with

state-of-the-art equipment and automated systems

, playing a key role in keeping operations running at their best.

What You'll Be Doing:



Carrying out proactive

planned preventative maintenance

to ensure plant reliability and minimise downtime. Working hands-on with

modern, high-spec production machinery

, helping us stay ahead of the curve in food manufacturing. Managing spare parts and maintenance schedules, ensuring the right materials are always available for planned and reactive work. Investigating faults, implementing fixes, and helping drive improvements to plant performance and reliability. Maintaining the highest

quality, hygiene, and GMP standards.

Supporting site health & safety compliance, including emergency response responsibilities. Contributing to capital investment and continuous improvement projects. Keeping workshop and engineering areas safe, clean, and audit-ready.

What You'll Bring:



A completed

Apprenticeship in an Engineering discipline

(Essential). HNC/HND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (Desirable). Solid hands-on engineering experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment. A methodical, proactive mindset - someone who enjoys solving problems and preventing them. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Confidence using maintenance software and analysing technical data. The ability to manage multiple priorities calmly and effectively.
