Production Engineer - CNC

Engineer

with a good understanding of CNC Turning and Milling.


We are looking for an engineer who is keen to make an impact and would relish the opportunity to streamline production processes.


Primarily you will support our UK base in Rochdale, but also you will apply your expertise on-site at our other two manufacturing centres in the USA and China.

Job Purpose:

To drive the optimisation of production processes and ensure the successful delivery of high-precision components, by utilising expertise in CNC Turning and Milling and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and collaboration across multiple manufacturing centres.

Responsibilities:

---------------------

Write machine programs (in Fanuc/Okuma) and identify tooling requirements. Lead feasibility reviews for new components and determine the best manufacturing method. Create programs using Fusion for CNC Lathes/Milling machines.. Produce CAD stage drawings using Solid Edge. Drive improvements in production processes through proven methodology and the involvement of stakeholders. Support Sales by creating accurate Bills of Materials (BoMs) using the MRP system (Epicor).

Requirements:

Qualified to HNC/HND level or above in mechanical engineering, with substantial manufacturing experience in CNC Turning and Milling (knowledge of Grinding would be an advantage). Familiarity with machine controls, preferably Fanuc and Okuma. Previous experience in producing stage drawings or similar, and proficient user of CAD packages such as Solid Edge (2019). Ideally, you will have previously worked for a manufacturing business producing components of tight tolerances. Experience of working with an MRP system. Familiarity with Lean manufacturing techniques, possessing the drive and tenacity to introduce improvements. Willingness to travel abroad to support our sister companies in China and America.

Full-Time, 37 hours per week 4  days Mon - Thurs 7:45 to 16:30 Fri 7:45 to 11:45.
